Camping
Cardinal Mountain Campground
Sixteen campsites on twenty-eight private acres, eight minutes from downtown Franklin.
What it is
Room to spread out
Cardinal Mountain Campground is our sister property — same owners as the creekside houses, eight minutes from downtown Franklin. It opened this season.
There are 16 bookable campsites across 28 private acres, and the acreage is the point: most sites sit more than 100 feet from their nearest neighbour. The sites are numbered up the mountain, from 2,330 feet to 2,630 feet, and several have long-range mountain views.
Every site has its own wooden deck built on cleared, level ground, so you're not hunting for a flat patch after dark. The one exception is Yosemite 5, which is open ground rather than a deck.
Who it suits
The campground takes tents, cars, trucks, SUVs, and self-contained Class B vans. Nothing towed — no travel trailers, no fifth wheels, no pop-ups.
It's a young campground and it's worth knowing what that means before you book. Portable restrooms serve the property. There is no water and no power at individual sites, so a self-contained van or a properly provisioned tent setup is the right fit.
The layout
Sites are spread along a single road that climbs the mountain, each on its own spur off it.
